City of Petra, in Jordan, is one of the 7 modern Wonders of the World. For over 600 years, this city, in the middle of the Jordanian desert, was legendary like the Atlantis and troy.
Petra is a name given by Greek, means the City of Rock. It is made up of sandstone, thus is very easy to carve using metal tools in 100 BC. The roads were originally under the sea. Sand stones formation because sand compressed under weight of water.
The Al-Khazneh is 39.5m, carved from top to bottom. 12 columns represents 12 months of the year. Flowers add up to 365 days.
